Thai Wildlife > Binturong

The binturongBinturong is a type of large civet native to Southeast Asia. It has been a popular house pet and this has endangered the numbers remaining in the wild while leaving many inA Civet captivity. Also known as a bear-cat, the binturong sleeps during the day typically curled up in a tall tree and then searches for fruit and insects at night. Its movements are slow and the binturong's bushy but muscular tail is used to maintain balance and hold branches for support.
