The Wild Life Preservation Process

To ensure the wild life preservation can achieve its objectives, the following policies have been laid by the Royal Thai Government;

Creation of wild life reserves and sanctuaries.
The aim is to prevent hunting and the encroachment of wildlife habitat.

Educating the public.
Preservation can only succeed with cooperation from the public. It is thus important to educate the public through cooperation with the media and educational institutions.

Research.
The research on wild life is conducted on all of the animals so that the information obtained can be used to better manage the habitat. This research covers all of the animals including those that are not listed in the rare and protected wild life categories. The findings of the research would be disseminated through academic seminars. Research stations have been created in all of the wild life reserves in each respective region.

Breeding wild life.
The breeding of wild life will include those that are of high economic value or are close to extinction. The breeding stations have been set up to increasing the breeding opportunity and to set an example for the public.

Law enforcement.
Laws have to be enforced to protect the wildlife. In addition adjustments need to be made to the law to guarantee the protection of wildlife. Check spots have also been organized to eradicate the effort to illegally traffic wildlife and their carcass. Also law enforcement efforts have to be coordinated with the foreign agencies to prevent illegal sale.

Personnel management.
Training and seminars have been provided to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the personnel in performing their duties.

Foreign cooperation.
The provision of information to foreign agencies to wildlife preservation and agencies that audit world heritage sites.
